How do I spot a scam?

Watch out for anyone who:

• asks for money, a loan, gift cards or crypto, often with an emergency story
• pitches an investment, trading or crypto “opportunity”
• asks you to pay for a linkup by bank transfer, cash app or anything outside Linkup
• asks for a verification code sent to your phone. Never share these, they’re how accounts get stolen
• wants to move to another app very quickly
• has a profile that seems too polished or doesn’t add up

Linkup will never ask for your password or verification codes by message.

If you spot one, report them and stop replying. If you’ve lost money, contact your bank and the police.
