Community Guidelines

Linkup is for making friends and doing more of what you love, together. These guidelines apply everywhere on Linkup, in messages, and in real life at linkups and any meet-up arranged through Linkup. They’re a plain-English summary. Our Terms of Use have the full rules.

Be yourself

  • Use your real first name, real age and genuine, recent photos of you.
  • One account per person. No fake, duplicate or shared accounts.
  • Don’t pretend to be someone else, including Linkup staff.

Be respectful

  • Treat everyone with respect, online and in person.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, stalking or abuse of any kind.
  • No hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic.
  • No unwanted advances, touching without consent, or sexual messages or images.
  • Respect people’s privacy. Don’t share anyone’s personal info, or photograph or record people without their consent.

Keep it platonic

Linkup is for friendship and shared experiences. It’s not for dating, hook-ups, or any kind of sexual or paid companionship. No sexual content, nudity or links to adult content.

Keep it safe and legal

  • No illegal drugs, weapons or other illegal items, at linkups or anywhere on Linkup.
  • Follow local laws, including on alcohol. Never give alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age.
  • Hosts should choose appropriate venues, ideally public, and never use a linkup to get anyone somewhere private or isolated.
  • No promoting suicide, self-harm, eating disorders or dangerous challenges.

Keep money on Linkup

  • Never ask other people for money, gifts, loans or crypto.
  • No scams, investment schemes, MLM or fake giveaways.
  • The only way to charge for a linkup is a Paid Linkup. Don’t take payment outside the app.
  • No ads, spam, recruiting or self-promotion, except Paid Linkups set up properly.

Show up

  • Read the linkup details before joining and turn up on time.
  • If you can’t make it, leave the linkup in the app. Repeated no-shows can lead to restrictions.

Zero tolerance

Some things get you permanently removed straight away, with no warnings, and reported to the authorities where appropriate. These include human trafficking, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion and sharing intimate images without consent. See Our zero-tolerance policy.

What happens if you break the rules

We may remove content, restrict features, apply strikes, cancel linkups, hold payouts, or suspend or ban accounts. We can act on things that happen offline too. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal.

STILL STUCK?

Email us and a real person from the team will get back to you, usually within 2 working days.
