Why do you need my date of birth and gender?

We ask for your date of birth to confirm you’re 18 or over, and to show your age on your profile so people know a bit about who they’re meeting.

We ask for your gender so male-only and female-only linkups work: Hosts can limit a linkup to one gender, and we use the gender you gave when you signed up to decide who can join. Your gender isn’t shown on your profile.

With Linkup Plus you can hide your age on your profile. Please give your real details. Misrepresenting your age or gender breaks our Terms.
