What are the rules for hosting?
As a Host you’re responsible for your linkup. In short:
- Be accurate. Describe what’s happening honestly, including any costs, skill or fitness requirements, and risks.
- Choose an appropriate venue, ideally public. Never use a linkup to get anyone to a private or isolated place.
- Follow the law. Get any licences, permissions or insurance you need, and follow local rules on alcohol.
- Look after people. Take reasonable care for everyone’s safety, and stop the linkup if it becomes unsafe.
- Respect privacy. Say if you’ll be taking photos, and use attendees’ details only to run the linkup.
- Be fair. Don’t exclude people unlawfully.
If you’re charging people, there are extra rules. See Your responsibilities as a Paid Linkup Host.
